Research Interests

My research interests are geodesy and gravity field modeling. A focus is on the analysis of the high-precision gravity field observations from the current GRACE and the upcoming GOCE satellite missions, and on an improved orbital modeling for these missions. I am also working on high-resolution geoid and gravity field modeling based on gravimetric, astro-geodetic and GPS-leveling observations, and on modeling of the topographic contribution to gravity field quantities. The objectives of this work are to achieve a consistent combination of satellite-based and other gravity field data, to improve the quality of gravity field data for applications in engineering and Earth system research, and to determine realistic accuracy measures for all types of gravity field quantities.
